RMX 3.0 (KMW) cometh

MST recently teased renderings of their newest version of their hugely popular but aging RMX 2.0 RWD platform. The 3.0 originally started as the RMX 2.0 plus, but I guess their marketing teams (or was it their engineers) decided to just move ahead with the newest version of the car. The 3.0 which looks to only be available as a KMW version at this time (get out your wallet) but I’m hoping the S version won’t be too far behind.

This isn’t just some revamp of the 2.0 either. It looks like the 2 cars won’t share a lot of components. The big takeaways are the weight distribution options with this new car. Servo, ESC and battery layout options can be configured in several different ways. The motor position boasts a whopping 4-5 positions alone. This car encompasses the RMX mid rear motor configuration (High and low) and a high and low rear motor position of the popular RRX version chassis. All this thanks to an entire gearbox redesign.

We get updated suspension mounts, new front bulkhead and shock towers. New lightweight carbon upper and lower decks and on top of all that the KMW version is fully bling’d with every alloy upgrade you could want to add to it. It even comes with body magnets and aluminum differential.

If you know MST you know this comes with a price tag. I have not seen any official pricing, but the car this is replacing was being pre-ordered at a hefty 1100 bucks.

Production is also being limited on this car just like earlier KMW versions. (usually around 300 units) We should see this car early 2021 so start saving now 🙂

That’s it for now gang, keep it out of the wall!

I’ll catch you on the next one!
